Interview # 13  Sarah Markwood
via email - December 12th
What is something you are out to accomplish in 2011? Well, 2010 has been a year of refining and filtering. I feel I have been stretched in every area of my life, and in return have gained a peace that surpasses understanding, an unrelenting perseverance, and a strength in my faith that I have never had before. Therefore I know that God is going to do mighty things in 2011! He has equipped and shaped me for such a time as this! 2011 is not only a new chapter…but a new book in my life. I am so pumped to see what is ahead! As for my personal goals…1.Take my prayer life to a whole new level. 2. Make a difference in as many lives as I can. My prayer is that God would bring someone across my path each day that I can bless in someway. I want them to be drawn to me, and for God to use me in a life changing way for them. 3. Continue to do things that take me out of my comfort zone, and make me think outside of the box, that cause me to grow and evolve. 4. Get my salon career on! (here in Tulsa, LOL) 5. Really…just to be the person that God has created and designed me to be. Reflecting Him in all I do.
What is your favorite book of the bible & why? Hmmm…Good question! It is hard to pick a favorite. Can I list 3? LOL! Psalms have been really vital to me this year! They have taught me despite the circumstance life brings, how to rejoice with thanksgiving and praise. Daniel has taught me to be unrelenting in my faith, and to stand  firm, and no matter what, that God is always with the righteous. And Isaiah, man, this book just gets me jazzed up! It is a book of hope, hope, hope! My favorite is Isaiah 43 Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. …Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. …I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” Man, to me that is the most precious scripture, loving words I have ever heard. To know that God loves me so much that He blots out my sins from His memory, not for my sake, but for His sake, because He loves me so. It is just unbelievable.
What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? Back Home there is this place called Gold Rush. Total dive, but the best breakfast ever! 2 Eggs over easy, Thick cut pepper bacon, fried potatoes, and 2 buttermilk pancakes! Oh yeah and a little coffee to go with my cream and sugar!
Who is someone dead or alive that you admire? What is it that you admire about them? The Apostle Paul. His words in Philippians 3:7-14 & 4:11-13 blow me away. His zeal, passion, and intense love and devotion to God sets a standard that I reach for everyday of my life. My prayer is to be consumed by Christ, the way that Paul was.
What is your signature drink at Starbucks? Upside down Caramel macchiato…extra caramel!
What always seems to fill up your free time? Reading! I love to READ! Also sewing! Ha ha ha. I make all kinds of things. Right now I am working on  “Sweet Cakes“…they are stuffed “softie” cupcakes. Soooo presh! I’m hoping to open a shop on ETSY soon.
What is your favorite flower? Morning Glory! I have loved them ever since I was little. Most morning glory flowers curl up and close during the warm parts of the day, and are fully open in the morning, thus their name. They remind me of the scripture…”and joy comes in the morning.”
What is your middle name? Anne, after “Anne of Green Gables”. My mom loved those books.
What is something about you that most people don't know? One day I want to be a drummer, and ride around town on a skateboard all day. Also  if I could do anything as a job, I would be a nature photographer. I adore National Geographic!
What is the name of your favorite nail polish? clear…I know…completely boring.
Where are some of your favorite places to shop? Forever 21. I’m a bargain shopper all the way!
If you were to take a year off & write a novel, what would you write about? Probably my life. It has been one heck of a ride since birth. This is something I have considered doing years down the road.
What are some of your favorite quotes?
"In the midst of your darkness, look up toward heaven, and there you will see the stars of promise."
“There is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”
“I’m a new day rising. I’m a brand new sky to hang your stars upon tonight.”
Where was the last place you went on vacation? My last vacation was probably when I lived in Hawaii about 2 years ago. I miss it!!! But hopefully a vacain love with Ireland!

  1. Knowing you, your heart, your soul, your inner being, and seeing this magnificant transformation in your life is truly amazing, and an inspiration for myself and others just the same. You, Sarah Anne, are the most beautiful woman I know, inside and out, the whole package, the real deal! I love you for the girl I met, and love you more for the strong, faithful, spirit filled woman you have grown to be. Continue on your journey, never stop growing and learning and strengthing your realtionship with The Almighty, loving, caring, and forgiving Father of all. You were meant for this, you have let the Lord lead you into the light, and it is more and more obvious everyday. You have inspired me, touched my heart, and drawn me to the right path as well...although I have my hiccups and challenges, and am not always successful. But your example keeps me going, keeps me reminded of the inner peace you find in your faith and the personal realtionship you build with God! Keep up the good work, and know that you are changing not only your life, but the lives of others. You are a living angel, and it is not only I who can see this. I have seen you evolve, and grow, and flourish. I miss you dearly, and hope to be leading by example one day as you are. You are one of my best friends in this whole world! I am so very proud of you. You make my heart sing a joyous song... and I can not wait to read your beautiful testimony when you become a best selling author! "Be strong in the Lord, never give up hope, your going to do great things, I already know." I pray for you and I pray to be able to spend time together in the near future! You are AMAZING!!! I love you.
