I have been attending a class that my pastor has been speaking at every Tuesday for the last 4 weeks. She has titled the class, "If there is one thing I know." It being based on things that her mother taught her and countless testimonies from her walk with God. Every week I am in awe of the opportunities that God has given her and how she was obedient. Here are some things that really stand out to me...

Philippians 3:13&1413 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,[d] but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

John 10:27 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Luke 17:1 1 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!

James 4:1&21 What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? 2 You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.

Philippians 4:7&8 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
2nd Corinthians 10:3-5 3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 [a]We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

Isaiah 26:3 3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

  • You become what you think.
  • You have to have boundries.
  • Those that you are offended by or about are the ones that you are closest to you.
  • You have to disipline your thoughts.
  • Offence builds walls around your heart, which turns into strongholds.
  • Hurting people hurt people.
  • Don't loose heart, wait on the Lord.
  • Be of good courage, He will strengthen your heart.
  • Find something in the Word to stand on when you are going through something.
  • Don't permit certain things and thoughts.
  • Bind is what you prohibit, Lose is what you permit.
